RAD Leases Have Been Mailed to Tenants
In preparation for THA’s move to the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD), 456 new RAD leases have been mailed to tenants. The tenants impacted by this change live in the following buildings:
- Ludwig Apartments
- 6th Avenue Apartments
- K Street Apartments
- G Street Apartments
- EB Wilson Apartments
- Wright Street Apartments
- Fawcett Street Apartments
- Bergerson Terrace
- Dixon Village
Together these properties will be called ‘Renew Tacoma.’ Most lease documents show this new name.
Tenants may sign and return their leases to the THA office in their building, attend a scheduled building meeting or ask for a one-on-one appointment. Translation will be provided upon request.
Signed leases are due January 5th. The new lease will take effect February 1, 2016. On January 1st, THA will mail these same tenants notification that their public housing lease is ending. This is a formality having to do with the move to RAD. Tenants do not need to worry about this notice if they’ve returned their new lease to THA staff.
We made an error in the leases that were sent to tenants. Tenants were asked to initial their receipt of Attachments 14 and 15 (CC&Rs and Articles and Bylaws). These attachments do not apply to Renew Tacoma households. They only apply to Salishan households. Renew Tacoma households do not need to initial their receipt of Attachments 14 and 15.
